Privacy Policy

Zolt is designed around a simple rule: your database work should stay on your machine unless you decide otherwise.

Last updated: August 25, 2026

01

Privacy position

Zolt is built for developers who do not want a database client to watch their work. The app is designed so database queries, schemas, connection strings, credentials, AI prompts, and AI responses stay on your device unless you choose to send them somewhere else.

This Privacy Policy explains what limited information we collect through the website, purchases, license validation, and support.

02

Information we collect

The static website is configured for Cloudflare hosting. Cloudflare may create standard security and delivery logs such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp under its own service terms. Zolt does not run an embedded product-analytics or advertising endpoint on this site.

If you buy a paid plan, Polar processes checkout information such as name, email address, billing address, tax information, payment status, order number, and license or renewal status. Zolt receives the information needed to deliver and validate your license.

If you email for beta access or support, we receive the email address, message contents, attachments, and troubleshooting details you choose to send. The website itself does not contain an embedded signup form.

03

Local storage and cookies

The website uses localStorage only for the selected color theme. Current website builds do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or a waitlist identifier.

Polar checkout, email, hosting, or security providers may use their own cookies or similar technologies when you visit their services. Their policies apply to those third-party surfaces.

04

What the desktop app does not collect

Current desktop builds are designed not to collect your database rows, query text, schema names, connection strings, saved queries, query history, SSH keys, database passwords, AI provider keys, AI prompts, or AI responses.

Credentials are designed to live in the operating system keychain, with an encrypted local vault as fallback. License validation — at activation and through periodic revalidation (about weekly) — may check license key status, activation status, app version, and coarse device activation data with Polar, but it is not used to transmit database content.

The website's download page queries GitHub's public API from your browser to list current releases, which shares your IP address with GitHub. The desktop app's optional update check contacts GitHub Releases the same way.

05

How we use information

We use collected information to provide the website, deliver license keys, validate paid features, process refunds, answer support requests, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with law, and improve reliability.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your database work or AI prompts for advertising or model training.

06

Legal bases where required

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, purchase and license information is processed to perform the license contract, security and fraud-prevention data for legitimate interests, billing and tax records for legal obligations, and optional release emails with consent where required.

You can withdraw from optional release emails by contacting unclegrape1975@gmail.com or using any unsubscribe mechanism included in the message.

07

Processors and third parties

We use service providers for hosting, payment processing, license delivery, email, and support. Cloudflare hosts the static site, GitHub hosts release downloads and issue tracking, and Polar is the merchant of record for paid licenses and update renewals.

AI integrations are bring-your-own-key. Zolt does not proxy AI requests through Zolt servers. If you connect an AI provider, that provider's privacy terms apply to your use of that provider.

We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used in U.S. state privacy laws.

08

Retention

We keep purchase, license, support, and security records only as long as needed for billing, tax, fraud prevention, support, legal compliance, and product operations.

You may request deletion of support or account records by emailing unclegrape1975@gmail.com. Some records may need to be retained where required for tax, accounting, dispute, or legal reasons.

09

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for the limited data we process. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

You are responsible for protecting your devices, database credentials, AI provider keys, and backups.

10

Your choices

You can cancel an Updates Renewal through Polar. You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete personal information controlled by Zolt by contacting unclegrape1975@gmail.com.

If you are in a region with specific privacy rights, we will respond to applicable rights requests as required by law. Depending on your location, those rights may include access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction, objection, opt-out, or non-discrimination rights.

You may also complain to the data-protection authority that applies where you live or work. Polar, Cloudflare, GitHub, your email provider, and any AI provider process information under their own notices and may process it in other countries.

11

Contact

Zolt is the controller for support email and other personal information it decides to process directly. Privacy questions can be sent to unclegrape1975@gmail.com. Include the email address tied to your license if the request concerns a purchase or renewal. Polar is the separate merchant of record and controller for checkout information it collects directly.
